I get the feeling whenever I visit India that most of the population is spaced out and not focussed at all on what they are doing. The most amusing thing about it is that Indians consider themselves expert multi taskers when they cant focus adquately on one job. I wondered why Indian drivers incessantly honk their horns when there is absolutely no need to . I have not seen this even in third world countries. Then it occured to me what happens when I would run in a park whether in Dubai, Canada or U.S where cities have large Indian populations. While some parks have a specific track for runners , many dont and it is understood that people get out of the way when they see a guy running.
