Sacred Games is actually not so good

I know I am late to this Sacred Games party as my beloved commenters knows it takes me forever to put up new material. I actually saw the first Sacred Games early last year. I found somewhat entertaining but also irritating and frustrating in parts. I wished to do a review of it but the problem there is really nothing memorable and captivating about it that makes you wish to revisit it. Compare this to Anurag Kashyap's previous work in say Black Friday(a superb fast moving thriller) and Satya(redefined the gangster genre, some say it was Ramgopal Varma's last serious film). But this ? What is this supposed to be? Part of the problem is Vikram Chandra's rambling narrative. He and Deepak Seth are notorious for looking at one page idea and wonder "hmm what would this look like in 2000 pages?" People forget that the original Godfather was based a novel which was considered quite terrible. Mario Puzo's most famous work included a major plot where an actress trie

Why is Indian YouTube so mediocre?

Short answer: Indians are a silly immature and intellectually uncurious people. Long answer: Even the videos by smart people such as say professors or professionals who wish to impart their knowledge in the sciences, engineering, economics , accountings or other fields are poorly communicated and produced compared to those in say U.S. It is not a matter of language skills. The Indian English skills are acceptable. What matters is conveying the information in an effective, clear and concise manner. In general Indians fail at this. Which is why the Indian education system is generally terrible? It is as if it is intended to incomprehensible and inaccessible to students. In mainstream Youtube, there are documentaries by non professional vloggers about say cathedrals, classical music, Christian iconography, economics of 17th century Holland, Neitzche and his effects on Nazism, the pecularities of various European and non European languages, film reviews and analysis of Kubrick, Ku

Baloch separatism in Pakistan is dead: Indian intelligence is either terrible or is lying

The rather hawkish Ajit Doval threatened to sever Balochistan from Pakistan if the latter tried any 26/11 stunts. There have been since been any number of provocations from Pakistan of high and low intensity which they as usual in a cowardly and dishonorable manner deflect blame by stating that non state actors within their borders did so. This is not about the country of Pakistan lacking honor or any sense of fair play whatsoever. But the highly misinformed Indian population actually thinks Baloch separatist tendencies are still in full swing. They are stuck in a time warp of say 2004. SInce then China has rapidly stabilized i.e taken over Pakistan through its One Belt One Road initiative. It is responsible for virtually of Pakistans infrastructure in the last 10 years and has a controlling interest in the port city of Gwadar. Pakistan stock market's board members dont feature names such as Khans or Butt but quite a few Jiangs and Lis. Gwadar BTW is located in Balochistan. The v
