Serbian answer to Vadakayil /P.N Oak

I suppose we have to fair to Indians. We are not the only ones to have crackpot ideas about all civilizations emanating from India. There is a good deal of these around the world

Here is the Serbian version, from the comments of a Croat on unz.com



Being a Croat, I know something about Serbian mythology. Kosovo is just a belated, small-scaled variant of what their rational historians call “romantic school of historiography”. It all has begun in the 1870ies, with “historians” like Miloš Milojević, and then continued with quasi-historians & writers Sima Lukin Lazić, ..and then to lunatics like Jovan Deretić (not to be confused with a literary historian bearing the same name), Olga Pjanović Luković etc.


Main tenets:


* Serbs are the oldest people on earth, most other peoples stemming from them
* ancient Egyptian civilization had been, basically, Serbian & as well as Indian
* nothing about China & Africa (phenotypically too different)
* Serbs established Mesopotamian civilization, while a branch of Serbs moved northward, founding Siberia (S-b-r, it’s the same as S-r-b, so…)
* most Egyptian pharaohs & Roman emperors were Serbs
* Jesus was, in all likelihood, a Serb, and some say that Serbs were builders of the Tower of Babel
* ancient Greeks were Serbs, too, and Homer & Aristotle wrote, basically, in Serbian


Politically powerful cultures such as U.S.A ,France and U.K dont tend to produce such cranks. Im sure they do but they are laughed at and not taken seriously. In America the closest I can think of are the Mormons who believe in an elaborate and fantastic mythology which puts the American continent and native Americans at the forefront of their religion.


Arabs believe they created Sumerian and Egyptian civilizations despite not having anything common with Arabs at all. Not satisfied many believe they were the ancestors of Jews as well.


Germans believed that Romans were of Germanic origin, they created Roman civilization but the weather in Italy wasnt to their liking and so they headed back periodically invading to reinvigorate their blood. British bootlicker Nehru swallowed this Nordic supremacist theory hook,line and sinker and included it in his ridiculous book on World History. Germans heavily promoted these and similar theories after their defeat in WWI to heal their fragile egos. Of course Germans under our friend Hitler also believed they created Vedic civilization.


I am aware of Greek supremacists who think that Egyptian and Mesopotamian was of Greek origin. And pretty much every famous Indian dynasty post Maurya was given a Greek pedigree by wild eyed British historians. Hence Coorgis become Alexanders descendents and Chalukya was apparently a corruption of Seleukus.


In U.S I knew many Irish people who genuinely believed that they were descendents of King David . Dont ask me how. Just something about King David having red hair.


OTOH Afrocentrists claim the heritage of Greeks and Israelites for themselves.


Persians such as Dr. Samar Abbas who is their P.N Oak ascribe pretty much every Indian civilizational attainment to Persia. Their favorite acquisition was the Pallava dynasty which using PN Oak type logic was said to be a corruption of Pahlava.. They dont even spare Buddha. Persia was advanced than India in material culture such as roads, military organization, postal systems, building technology, armour and agriculture such as water wheel but much of these were lifted from Babylonians and Assyrians. The most important contribution of Persia was probably the custom of administrative records which led to writing on a large scale.


It seems that countries and societies who arent quite up to par with the first world are more likely to indulge in fanciful history and conspiracy theory to make up for their complexes.


What is your favorite crank theory from India or abroad? Anything from the Vadakayil or Oak stable if possible as we are quite familiar with these :)
