Rohingyas are not our problem

I find it amazing that the pundit class dont care for their namesake ethnic group Kashmiri Pandits but are shedding copious amount of tears for some people they have barely heard a minute ago.

Kashmiri Pundits are displaced from their own land and are internal refugees in their own country. How about rehabilitating them first? But then that would not earn Girish Karnad and company applause of the smart set abroad.

Amazing things about Indian leftists - for all their anti American /anti imperialist chanting they are quite eager for a pat on the head from the whites

But then Hindutvadis are the same.

Perhaps the country may unite around this sentiment of degrading ourselves in front of foreigners.

  1. Is it merely applause from the West, or is it something else that makes the Indian Left cry over Rohingyas whilst turning a blind eye to Kashmiri Pandits?

More importantly, why does the West show partiality? Backing Muslim refugees is okay, but why turn a blind eye to Hindu and even Christian refugees? Has this something to do with their own Muslim minority groups or is it money from rich Muslim nations at play?

Maybe if (and a big IF) crying over Hindu refugees gets them money tomorrow, who knows, the Indian Left probably won't hesitate to do that either I suppose.

  3. Wanted to say this earlier.

Kashmiri Pandits have been suffering for 3 decades now and there's no attempt to rehabilitate them.

There's another set of people who desperately need help: Hill Tamils in Sri Lanka (Malaiyaga Tamils). These Tamils are of Indian origin and possibly the largest Tamil demographic group there. They were taken to the island by the British in the 19th century. There they converted dense forests into rich agricultural lands and also built roads and other infrastructure. In other words, they literally carried Sri Lanka's economy on their backs. But post 1949 (when Sri Lanka got independence), they've been subjected to widespread discrimination by both Sinhalese and native Sri Lankan Tamils. They were stripped of their right to live there in the 1950s. Ever since, they've been living in the shadows and underground. Neither the Sri Lankan govt wants to give them citizenship (despite them carrying their economy on their backs) nor the Indian govt wants to take them back. Tamil groups were itching to deport them from the island. LTTE went one step further and tried to snatch their kids away and put them in the front lines of battle. Only the EPRLF led by communist Padmanabha (assassinated by LTTE in 1990) tried to take them along.

But in the eyes of the Indian media and intellectuals/Pundits, it seems such a people don't even exist!

  4. off topic: your knowledge of the deep roots of vegetarian communities of North India is feeble - actually nonexistent - you erase my comments so really I don't care - go live as a slave for 100 years - you are a living graveyard (schopenhauers expression) - you don't know how to revel. from a distance the mlecch stinks - by definition mlecch is nonveg - we have been veg since time immemorial - since the VERY BEGINNING.

Even now you are are low IQ troller. You say my ideas are feeble but physically i am not as feeble as you as I am not a cow hugger.
Only vegetarians in UP belt were living as slaves for 1000 years. Meat eaters were more successful in combating Muslims.
You are a stupid mleccha as you are descendent of Sycthians from Afghanistan.
No one is vegetarian since time immemorial. Early man was an omnivore.
Vedas celebrate beef eating whether you like it or not.

    5. I thought you were done with this blog and yet you come back for more humiliation. No matter, more entertainment for me.
Kerala is run by commies but it is still better shape than most states run by BJP whose idea of governance and prosperity is hugging cows.
As a BJP supporter and Modi bootlicker, you probably lost your money in demonetization and doubt you have a bathroom or a house for that matter. So paying me is out of the question. Go drink some cow urine and eat cow dung as is your breakfast ,lunch and dinner.

    8. Ashraf Ali: Amith Mishra, is that you?

Prabhnoor Rangi, Please don't let your bias get in the way of facts. Early man ate meat because he wasn't farming at the time. He couldn't get his nutrition from only plants. Man's digestive system can't tolerate hard grasses and bushes (which wild rabbits can do). It's meant for soft vegetables and all forms of meat.

  5. Hi YSR Rao garu. I am Ved Aitharaju, a filmmaking student from the London Film Academy. I wanted to chat with you about the origins of the Niyogi Brahmins, as I read one of your blogs about it. Couldn't find a way to contact you. I am making a documentary on it, and would love your advise regarding that.

Please email me at ved43211@gmail.com if you can.

    Thanks.

    Ved
